Keep your hands off the mat! Since I have never trained for I do not know your habits, good or bad. Stick with your strengths and try not to get to creative. Also judging by some of your attitude try not to get to cocky. The big thing is Have some fun

Have fun. Don’t make stupid mistakes. Every point counts so avoid giving up any unnescary points. Don’t expect to win every match by a submission.

Worry about getting a good position first. Then try to get the submission.

Try to have good cardio when you go so that you don’t tire out.

And just practice a lot of live sparring the week before your tournament.

    Have fun.

In 8 months there’s no way you can beat most blue belts. One or two, yes, not most, unless wherever you train at rushes the belt schedule.
